Dunkin’ Awards Scholarship to Rising Junior Karleigh Patton at Kutztown University
Dunkin’ and Scholarship America announced the recipients of its thirteenth annual Philadelphia Regional Scholarship program.
Dunkin’ franchisees are celebrating thirteenth year by raising each individual scholarship from $2,000 to $5,000 to help ease the financial burden of college.
From more than 1,350 applicants, Dunkin’ and Scholarship America selected 20 students to receive a $5,000 academic scholarship at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school of their choice for the fall. 2022.
Karleigh Patton, a rising junior at Kutztown University and a Reading native, was announced as the recipient of a scholarship for Berks County at an awards ceremony on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at The Liberty View in Independence Visitor Center in Philadelphia.
Patton is a Presidential Scholar majoring in Communication Design and with a double minor in Business Theory and Social Media. Her leadership roles on campus include serving as Secretary of Visual and Performing Arts on the Student Government Council, Community Assistant for Rothermel Hall, as well as an active member of the Diversity Council. Patton says his proudest achievement so far in his college career has been co-founding the national youth movement called “Stand Together Against Racism.”
To date, the Dunkin’ Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program has awarded $600,000 in scholarships to 320 outstanding high school and college students. The program was founded in 2009 by the Philadelphia area franchisees of Dunkin to ease the financial burden of college for students throughout the area.
