Chitkara University is one of the first institutions in the region to venture into a full-time MBA and BBA program in Business Analytics with a B.Tech. data science program. Madhu assumes that every day new technologies and businesses are created with the growth of big data. Nonetheless, a major challenge in business analytics posed by big data analytics companies is determining which technologies can best fit them without adding new challenges and future threats. Another challenge Chitkara faced was the fact that the majority of students were freshmen, she said. The institute plans to roll out executive programs to leverage their experience and adapt it to future demands for knowledge dissemination through top academics.

Set future goals with “data” at the center
Anticipating the future, Madhu believes that with data being the new “oil”, organizations rely heavily on building capacity to generate, process and manage data by integrating disparate systems and applications. Due to the pandemic, most companies have launched online businesses and the demand for data analytics has skyrocketed. A study by IBM and Burning Glass Insights showed that in 2020 alone there were 2.7 million job openings for data professionals.
