Geetanjali Dash appointed VC of University of Berhampur

Obtaining National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation for colleges affiliated with the University of Berhampur is its priority, Professor Dash told this article. Of 150 affiliated colleges, only 18 have NAAC accreditation. Also, NAAC’s visit to the university is planned. “My immediate priority would be to meet with the NAAC peer team. Although NAAC accreditation is mandatory to provide quality education, many colleges in the University of Berhampur still do not have it due to various reasons. We will provide them with the necessary training and support to apply for NAAC accreditation,” Professor Dash said.

It also plans to improve the employability of students by providing them with vocational training through various courses. Talking about faculty vacancies in the university, she said that OPSC is gradually appointing faculty members in phases and recently 10 of them have joined the institution. “We hope that in the next few months the vacancies will be filled,” she said.

Previously, the chancellor’s office had received 57 applications for the position from academics across the country.
