Indira Gandhi National Open University PhD 2021: apply by December 22
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched a call for applications for the 2021 Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU PhD) Entrance Examination for admission to various PhDs. Courses for the academic session 2021-22.
The list of disciplines includes anthropology; Political science; Chemistry; Geology; Life sciences; Mathematics; Trade; Management; Education; Women’s studies; Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary studies; Environmental sciences; Tourism studies; Computing; Law; Feeding with milk; Translation studies; Vocational education and training; English; Sanskrit; urdu; Hindi and child development.
IGNOU offers a doctorate. program under two categories: part-time and full-time. Both categories of students will be required to attend classes, if assigned class work. The minimum and maximum duration of the IGNOU doctorate. program is three years and six years respectively. Candidates and disabled people benefit from two additional years in the maximum period.
Eligibility: the candidate must have a master’s degree from a university recognized by the UGC in the discipline concerned with at least 55% of marks in overall / equivalent mark [50%marks in the case of SC, ST and OBC (Non-creamy Layer)/Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Masterâs Degree prior to 19th September,1991] excluding the marks of thanks.
Admission to the program is based on performance on the entrance test and interview. The entrance exam will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on January 16, 2022 (Sunday). The questionnaire will consist of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ) composed of 50% research methodology and 50% of a specific subject. There should be no negative marking. Those who obtain at least 50% of marks on the entrance test (45% of marks in the case of SC / ST / OBC / persons with reduced mobility) will be shortlisted for the interview in order of merit, subject to the limit maximum of five times the free places. The preselected candidates for the entrance test will be invited for an interview / presentation of the synopsis before the doctoral research committee specific to the discipline. The entrance test must have a weight of 70% and a weight of 30% must be given to the interview / defense. Letters of offer of admission will only be sent to selected applicants.
The application can be submitted online at https://ignou.nta.ac.in/ by 22.12.2021 at the latest. The exam fee is Rs.1000 / – (for SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender it is Rs.800 / -). Fees can be paid by credit / debit card / Net Banking / UPI until 23:50 on 23.12.2021.
Correction of details of the application form can be done through the website from 24.12.2021 to 26.12.2021.
