NEP-2020: Ambedkar University of Agra approves 135 new professional courses
The Academic Council of Dr BR Ambedkar University, Agra also approved the issued ordinance for the implementation of NEP-2020 in BA, BSc and BCom courses.
The Academic Council of Dr BR Ambedkar University, Agra, met on Thursday to approve 135 new professional courses under the National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020). In addition to this, the issued ordinance for the implementation of NEP-2020 in BA, BSc and BCom courses has also been approved and will be sent for sanction to the Governor of Uttar Pradesh.
The Academic Council meeting was chaired by the incumbent Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai.
“The ordinance issued for the implementation of the National Education Policy-2020 for BA, BSc, BCom courses, was approved at the meeting and will be sent to Raj Bhavan for sanction by the Governor of the Uttar Pradesh, “said Professor Pradeep Shridhar, the spokesperson for the university.
â135 professional courses have been approved by the Academic Council, which also accepted the proposal to change the title of some courses, as presented by the VC. The board authorized the university registrar to change course titles and submit them to the executive board for approval, âsaid Prof. Shridhar.
“It has also been decided that from now on the decisions of the Academic Council meetings will be sent to all members by mail and in case no objection is raised by a member within three days then these decisions will be deemed accepted, âsaid Professor Shridhar.
âOn the representation made by e-mail, Vandana Nagpal had asked to consider the diploma of public accountant equivalent to MCom, so that it could pave the way for research work. This was accepted as a political decision. and, in this regard, the notification issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) has been adopted by the Academic Council, âsaid the spokesperson for the university.
