Search for ways of joint cooperation between Al-Balqa Applied University and the European Union | Culture & Society
Ammon News – During a visit to BAU to explore opportunities for collaboration, the President of Al-Balqa Applied University, Professor Ahmad Al-Aljlouni, met with a delegation from the European Union, the director of the employment project and Technical and Professional Training Ilona Zamarusi, and the Project Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, Mr. Mouneer Baty. The visitors were accompanied by Professor Tariq Al-Azab and Dr. Khetam Shraideh, Director of the International Projects Department of the International Relations Unit of Al-Balqa Applied University.
Professor Al-Ajlouni discussed ways to strengthen joint cooperation between the European Union and Al-Balqa Applied University by highlighting the challenges the university faces in the field of technical and vocational education to improve the cooperation between the two parties.
Professor Al-Ajlouni explained that Al-Balqa Applied University places great importance on technical and vocational education in order to meet the needs of local, regional and international labor markets. In his address, Professor Al-Ajlouni briefly touched on the university’s relations with international agencies, including the German Foundation for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the German Institute for employment, as well as universities exchange with European universities under the Erasmus Plus programme. In addition, Prof. Al-Ajlouni highlighted the university’s high standing locally and internationally.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the Technical Faculty of Salt, where they heard a brief presentation of the programs and specializations offered at the Technical Faculty of Salt which are crucial for the labor market and the local community, such as cars hybrids, artificial intelligence, smart installations, digital media, big data science, cybersecurity and network security.
In order to promote the great achievements of Al-Balqa Applied University in technical and vocational education, the two sides agreed to increase joint visits and permanent cooperation.
