The ASEAN-Bangkok Learning Center, College of Overseas Chinese, Walailak University Center is officially open!
Walailak University, in collaboration with Fujian Open University, Republic of China, marked the establishment of ASEAN-Bangkok Learning Center, College of Overseas Chinese, Walailak University Center, operating for the educational collaboration between Thailand and China and the endorsement of “One Belt, One Road” among ASEAN scholars. On June 28, 2022, the opening of the center officially began with an unveiling ceremony and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Sri Thammarat Meeting Room, Architecture and Design Building, 3rd Floor, Walailak University Participants also attended a virtual meeting at Bohou Building Auditorium, Fujian Open University on Campus from Guishan, China.
On this occasion, Assoc. Teacher. Dr. Voravuth Somsak and Assoc. Dr. Surin Maisrikrod, Acting Vice President of Walailak University, welcomed Mr. Pinit Jarusombat, Former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Chairman of the Council for Promoting Thai-Chinese Relations and Culture, Mr. Prakob Ratanaphan, Chairman of the Education Committee, House of Representatives, Dr. Patcharinruja Chantaronanon, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and the University Management Team open from Fujian.
Assoc. Prof. Voravuth Somsak said the establishment of ASEAN-Bangkok Learning Center, Walailak University Center, Overseas Chinese College, Walailak University will contribute to the improvement in terms of education and work in the region, to positive economic advances and to the production of graduates. embodying an internationally recognized competence. In addition, the cooperation is oriented towards vocational education, Chinese language studies, research cooperation and the exchange of personnel and students in accordance with the policy of “One Belt, One Road, One Belt” and to the “Thailand 4.0” model.
Assoc. Professor Voravuth Somsak, Mr. Wu Guorong, President of Fujian Open University, and Mr. Suthikon Jearaphaitoon representing Open Education Group (Thailand) Co., Ltd. joined in signing a Memorandum of Understanding of ASEAN-Bangkok Learning Center, College of Overseas Chinese, Walailak University. The center is responsible for promoting exchanges and cooperation in education between China and Thailand, seeking post-pandemic paths to China-Thailand open educational cooperation, and promoting language learning and cultural exchanges as well as formal diploma and certificate programs.
