The New Orthodoxy of Public Schools


A three-pronged revolution in public education threatens to remake society as we know it.

Readers are probably familiar with the grim state of American higher education. United States spend more per student than most of his peers, but comparative studies of the academic skills of the Pew Foundation and others systematically classify us in the middle or lower rungs. Literacy rate are lower today than 1840, well before the imposition of compulsory public education. College campuses have become educational citadels of woke-ism. What is less understood is how these same forces have invaded public elementary and secondary schools across the country.

From Loudoun County to Cupertino, the K-12 public education system is subverting our common well-being. A wide range of public and private forces – legislatures, teachers’ unions, school boards, curriculum providers and paid interest groups – work in unison to advance a worldview hostile to traditional American values. . The evidence for this is legion and is revealed in three interconnected threats: sex and gender theory, critical race theory, and surrogate parenting.

Sex and gender theory comes in many forms, but centers around the separation of biology from personal identity. This post begins in kindergarten, where children are sometimes exposed to cartoon teaching books like Who are you ? : A child’s guide to gender identity. But an equally dangerous goal of sex and gender theory is to sexualize children. Far from being concerned with cultivating traditional conceptions of character and virtue, the goal of SEL is to “alleviate the interrelated legacies of racial and class oppression in the United States and around the world.” It seeks to “critically examine the root causes of inequality” and to develop “justice-minded global citizens”. In pursuit of these goals, schools have assumed the authority to engage in arousal therapy sessions through topics such as “self-awareness”, “relationship skills” and “responsible decision-making”. .

The goal of public education is to indoctrinate future generations into a new orthodoxy, a worldview replacing the beliefs that animated previous generations of Americans. If politics is downstream from the culture and cultivation of people’s personal beliefs, then America’s public schools turning into ideological indoctrination camps are a flashing red signal. How long can our civilization survive such intellectual and moral nihilism is up for debate.
