The University of Patna will start admission to PG courses from Monday
In a major relief for students awaiting admission to regular post-graduation (PG) courses, the University of Patna (PU) is set to begin the process for the same from Monday.
As per the latest notification issued by PU, the online forms for admission to regular PG courses including MA, MSc and MCom, as well as the PG diploma in public administration programs, will be available from 22 November to 20 December.
âInterested students can check all course details and complete the admission form online through our official website www.patnauniversity.ac.in,â said Anil Kumar, Dean of Student Welfare.
PU has around 1,800 places in the regular PG science, business and humanities courses.
In addition, PU has extended until November 30 the deadline for completing the online admission form for professional PG courses.
The PU academic session for PG courses has been delayed this year due to the restriction induced by Covid-19. Usually, the university begins the admissions process for PG courses in April.
âThe university is admitted to traditional PG courses on the basis of the marks obtained by candidates in their last qualifying exam instead of taking an entrance test. However, entrance exams will be organized for admission to professional PG courses. The entry schedule for them will be announced after the application window closes, âKumar said.
Admission to UG seats through an on-site tour
The state’s education department authorized 240 additional places in undergraduate courses (UG) at two PU colleges. The university has announced that it will accept additional seats and vacancies through the online counseling mode starting Monday.
Patna College and Patna Science College received 180 and 60 additional seats, respectively.
PU announced an online counseling process to complete one-off admissions to fill approximately 900 places in undergraduate courses at its constituent colleges. Interested candidates can fill in the subject choices via the online mode. The process will begin with Magadh Mahila College on Monday, followed by Patna Science College on November 24, Patna College and Vanijya Mahavidyalaya on November 26, and BN College on November 28.
âSelected applicants will be required to pay an admission fee via the online mode and visit their respective colleges for a paper verification. Admission to the competition will be concluded by November 30, âsaid Kumar.
