Vocational school in eastern Brunswick quarantined on Wednesday

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ – The East Brunswick campus of Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools (MCVTS) was closed Wednesday morning following a “concern brought to the attention” of school authorities by a student, the city said. police.

East Brunswick police responded and placed the school on lockdown “out of an abundance of caution,” spokesman Lt. Jason Fama said.

A thorough investigation was carried out and no weapon was found, police said. Authorities found no threat to the safety of the student and faculty.

According to the police, no direct threats were made against the school. The exact nature of the “concern” is not known.

The lockdown was later lifted after the investigation and pupils returned to classrooms.

The incident is currently being administratively handled by the school, police said.
